Rock code.

adjacent to the subject property. Staff recommends widening of Ada Lane 6 ft or 13 ft from centerline
with open shoulders. This will provide a total width of 20 ft. No curb or gutter will be required to be
installed and no sidewalk is required to be installed. At the time development occurs on the south side
of Ada Lane, a 6ft widening will be required for a 26 ft wide developed street as required by the
International Fire Code when adjacent to a fire hydrant.

requested from the Little Rock Planning Commission. Torrence can assist you in filing an application in
front of the Planning Commission.

engineer should be provided to Planning and Development, Civil Engineering for review and approval.
Following City approval, the plans will be forwarded to Pulaski County for concurrence and inspection.

Pulaski County as explained by Mr. Cranor. Pulaski County has no authority to exempt the requirement.
The Boundary Street Ordinance is triggered by every preliminary subdivision plat approved by the City.

>>> Vince,
>>>
>>> Pulaski County doesn’t issue permits for half street improvements. We issue driveway permits
within County Rights of Way. If half street improvements are deemed needed or required, the
applicant’s engineer provides the design and construction documents and Road and Bridge reviews
them. Once reviewed and all comments are addressed, the applicant provides a surety guaranteeing the
improvements. Once the County has the surety, the applicant is notified by letter or email that
construction can proceed. No formal permit is issued by the County. This is the procedure the County
will go by if Little Rock requires the improvements to Ada Lane.

County has denied issuance of permits to improve County streets outside of the City limits when the
widening was required by a City of Little Rock Planning Commission approval. Those denials occurred
for several reasons. Some of the reasons were Pulaski County did not believing there was a need and
the additional maintenance was not desired.
