HomeMy WebLinkAboutEmail Correspondence Opposing Neighbor ENDERLIN 082620Hello, my name is McKenzie Enderlin. My husband, Cole Enderlin and I have lived in The Villages of Ison Creek since November 2019. We are strongly opposed to the building of an apartment complex. There are many reasons why we decided to build a home in this area, the main one being the privacy of the area. We are close to Cantrell Road, but our neighborhood is surrounded by woods and feels remote and secluded. Building an apartment complex close to our residence will greatly reduce the privacy and peacefulness of our neighborhood. We also love how safe our neighborhood feels. We know and trust our neighbors. Apartments could possibly increase the crime rate in the area. We have not had any issues with crime and would like it to stay that way. Additionally, we love the active community. With Two Rivers Park nearby, there are runners and bikers on the roads at almost all hours of the day. An apartment complex would increase daily traffic, causing a threat to the numerous runners and bikers throughout our community. Lastly, we believe building an apartment complex within 200 feet of our home could potentially hurt the resale value of the houses in our neighborhood. Looking directly out our front door, we would be able to view the apartment complex. Our neighborhood and home would lack the qualities and attractiveness it once had. We personally lived in an apartment while building our house. We toured many apartments along Cantrell Road. In my opinion, there are plenty of apartment complexes on Cantrell Road out west, why do we need more? Little Rock is after all declining in population. The apartments we lived in and toured did not feel safe due to the undesirable neighbors. Please do not build an apartment complex in this location. We did not move here to be surrounded by neighbors in a lower socioeconomic class and not have privacy that we deserve. Please keep the zoning the way it was supposed to be and not allow this.
