ORDINANCE NO. 19,333
3 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 8 OF THE 1988 REVISED
4 LITTLE ROCK CODE OF ORDINANCES; TO PROVIDE FOR THE
5 ADOPTION BY REFERENCE OF THE 2005 NATIONAL ELECTRICAL
6 CODE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, Little Rock, Ark. Rev. Code 8- 172(a) adopts by reference the 2002
9 Edition of the National Electrical Code, and
10 WHEREAS, the City has complied with Ark. Code Ann. §14 -55 -207 (1987) by
11 publishing a notice of intent to adopt these technical codes by reference in a paper of
12 general circulation within the municipality and three copies of codes have been
13 available for inspection in the City Clerk's office by the public prior to their adoption,
14 and
15 WHEREAS, this Ordinance amendment is necessary to update the City Code
16 and authorize the use of the 2005 Edition within the City.
17 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
18 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
19 Section 1. This section of Little Rock, Ark. Rev. Code § 8 -172 (1988) is hereby
20 amended to read as follows:
21 (a) The following publications are adopted by reference:
22 (1) The 2005 National Electrical Code.
23 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence,
24 clause, phrase, or word of this ordinance is declared or adjudged to be invalid or
25 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining
26 portions of this ordinance, which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so
declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of this
2 ordinance.
3 Section 3. Repealer. All ordinances or resolutions of the City in conflict herewith
4 are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
