HomeMy WebLinkAboutZ-9616 Cover Letter 100721To whom it may concern:
Ms. Walker who lives at 5605 Southboro Dr. Little Rock, AR 72209, is an elderly
disable single female. She has fallen several times going to her car in inclement
weather; also, an ambulance has been to her house several times. Because of the
above statement, I found it necessary to install a portable car port. The standard
side of a two -car portable car port is 6 feet high and 18 feet wide. I installed a 7
feet high and 20 feet wide portable car port to be sure an ambulance would be
able to get as close to the front door as possible and get Ms. Walker out safely
doing inclement weather.
In 2020, 1 contracted a person to build a fix car port at 5605 Southboro Dr. When
he went to get a permit, he was told a fix car port could not be build there only a
portable car port; he was not told he would also need a permit to place a portable
car port there. I covered a two miles radius from 5605 Southboro Dr. and north
of Markham St. asking people where they got their portable car port and if there
were any restrictions; with the exception of one man who said that the car port
only had to be three feet from the city line, they all said that they did not get a
permit without me asking. I ordered the portable car port April 7, 2021, and it
was installed September 21, 2021.
For the safety and well-being of Ms. Walker, I am requesting a variance to be
approved to keep the portable car port which has already been installed at 5605
Southboro Dr. Little Rock, AR 72209.
Respectfully:
l
