In support of Request for Variance

This letter of intent is in support of my request for a variance to the rear yard setback on the south side
of my house. The intention is to enclose my existing Carport into a Garage with a second story of added
Living Space from the 25' rear yard setback a total of 7"0". The attached survey shows the proposed
Garage addition, second story of Living Space and the portion it will encroach on the setbacks.
We purchased our house in 2015 when we were a family of three. Since then, we have grown to be a
family of five. My wife, three daughters, and I love our home, close by friends and family, and truly
enjoy all that our neighborhood has to offer. Enclosing our Carport into a Garage, and adding Living
Space above it will allow for more storage, another bedroom, bathroom, and a larger laundry space. We
feel it will add a more attractive view for our neighbors, as it will hide many of our yard tools, children's
toys, and miscellaneous items from plain view. It is our hope that we can expand our current home into
a more functional space for our larger family, while maintaining its beauty and character. The rear yard
is surrounded by privacy fences and I feel that my Garage addition will not encroach on my neighbor's
privacy.
