HomeMy WebLinkAboutLetter of IntentJanuary 19, 2021 Dear Board of Adjustments and City Staff, Enclosed is an application for the Board of Adjustment Residential Zoning Variance for the property located at 4419 Country Club Blvd. The legal description is Lot 8R, Block 4, Country Club Heights subdivision. We are currently building our new home at 4419 Country Club Blvd. We would like to add a 20x20 garage that would be built on the 6 1/2 foot building set -back line for our property. We are requesting a variance to build at the 6 1/2 foot building set -back line versus a 15 foot set -back line for detached buildings. We feel this request is reasonable because there will be 20 feet from the front of the street curb to the front of the proposed garage. Due to the size and terrain of the lot, we feel like it would not make sense to push the garage 9 1/2 more feet to the East. If we push the garage 9 1/2 feet to the East, it would eliminate the majority of the remaining back yard. Our lot location on Palm is in a very low traffic area. Also, there are numerous examples of detached garages and outbuildings in the immediate vicinity, which reflect a similar variance. Our family currently owns 4 vehicles. By adding this garage, it will eliminate the need for us to park vehicles on Palm. This should greatly benefit this street that currently has very limited parking opportunities.
