HomeMy WebLinkAbout15635 1 RESOLUTION NO. 15,635 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE DOWNTOWN LITTLE ROCK 5 PARTNERSHIP, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED 6 NINETY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($195,000.00), FOR THE 7 PROVISION OF SERVICES TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, 8 ARKANSAS, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, MAIN STREET 9 REVITALIZATION, CREATIVE IDEAS FOR SPACES IN THE 10 DOWNTOWN AREA, OVERSEEING LIGHTS AND OTHER 11 DECORATIONS ON MAIN STREET, COORDINATING SPECIAL 12 EVENTS AND PROVIDING DOWNTOWN AMBASSADORS; AND FOR 13 OTHER PURPOSES. 14 15 WHEREAS, the Downtown Little Rock Partnership ("DLRP"), created in 1984, is a member-based 16 organization with the support of four (4) professional staff, two (2) full-time and one (1) part-time 17 Maintenance Staff and one (1) Ambassador overseeing four (4) contracted unarmed security personnel. 18 DLRP's mission is to accelerate the success of Downtown Little Rock through leadership,partnership and 19 initiative,and sustaining and growing a vibrant urban core; and, 20 WHEREAS, DLRP's priorities include: enhancing the downtown experience by improving safety 21 and cleanliness; diversifying membership of the DLRP Board and overall DLRP membership; increasing 22 involvement of downtown residents in DLRP; expanding event programming in the downtown area; 23 Working with City leaders to promote multi-modal transportation and parking solutions; developing new 24 and innovative avenues for growing DLRP revenue; advocating for growing business in the downtown 25 area; and working with the City to participate in any Downtown Master Plan processes;and, 26 WHEREAS,on December 21, 2021,the Board of Directors passed Ordinance No. 22,079 to provide 27 for,and to adopt,the 2022 Budget for the City of Little Rock,which included an amount of One Hundred 28 Ninety-Five Thousand Dollars ($195,000.00) to DLRP for the provision of services to the City of Little 29 Rock;and, 30 WHEREAS, an agreement is requested to outline these services provided by DLRP to the City of 31 Little Rock that are supported by City of Little Rock funding. 32 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE 33 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: IPage 1 of2I Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a one (1)-year agreement with the 2 Downtown Little Rock Partnership, in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Ninety-Five Thousand 3 Dollars ($195,000.00), for the provision of services to the City including, but not limited to, enhancing 4 the overall Downtown Little Rock experience through Main Street revitalization, exploring and imple- 5 menting creative ideas for spaces in the downtown area, overseeing lights and other decorations on Main 6 Street, coordinating special events and providing Downtown Ambassadors. 7 Section 2. Funds for this Agreement will come from Account No. 100000-66110. 8 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 9 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 10 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 11 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 12 resolution. 13 Section 4. Repealer.
