Good morning Lindsey,
I have received you COC applications. Thank you for all the information you’ve included! I have a long list this morning,
but I will be able to get to these three COCs today depending on the below.
A few questions before moving forward:
1. Will the porch roof, soffit, and fascia be addressed in these COCs?
2. I would like a couple pictures of each structure where the soffit and fascia will be repaired. If you are not able to
provide pictures this week, I’m happy to make a site visit to gather them.
Thanks,
Hannah Ratzlaff

Hi Hannah!
I am trying to tie up a few things that have been sitting on my desk for a while. One of those things is a set of
roofing COCs for the Victorians at Cromwell Court. While Downtown Dwellings will eventually get to
completely rehabilitating each structure, we have quickly realized that the roofing on each one is in really bad
shape with water intrusion becoming a problem in the apartments on the upper floors. All three are under the
Cromwell Court Opportunity Fund tax lot, owned by Jill Judy and Mark Brown.

We would like to request a Certificate of Compliance for each of the following addresses. The roofing work on
each structure is expected to be the same.
514 E 8th
516 E 8th
518 E 8th
Roofing:
Remove layers of asphalt roofing and any additional roofing materials that are part of the damaged
areas.
Repair any decking that is currently exposed with similar boards.
Replace shingles with Timberline HDZ Shingles in Weathered Wood color. https://www.gaf.com/en-
us/products/timberline-hdz/specifications
Soffit/Facia:
Remove any damaged soffit or facia pieces and replace with wood that is the same size.
Caulk and paint as necessary.
Once we have COCs, one of us will apply for the roofing permits for each.
Please let me know if you need any additional information at all.
Thank you,
Lindsey
