Project Description with Conditions listed:
Removal of vinyl siding from southeast section of the structure involving the southern and
eastern elevations, including the removal of a vinyl porch enclosure. Original wood siding
beneath the vinyl cover will be repaired, or replaced if necessary. Replacement siding will
match the original, including board size. Replacement boards will be beveled pine. Original
corner boards will be duplicated in their full original dimensions. All boards will be painted.
Replacing current asphalt shingle roofing with fiberglass asphalt architectural shingles, GAF
Timberline HDZ, with a described "wood -shake look" style.
1)
Wood Siding and Trim Board Repair
a)
Trim Boards and Siding Repair
i) Remove damaged trim boards and siding pieces and replace with boards of same dimension, shape
and profile.
ii) Caulk, prime, and paint.
b)
Trim Boards around Windows
i) Remove damaged trim boards and replace with boards of same dimension, shape and profile. Match
details of existing windows.
ii) Caulk, prime, and paint after stucco repair has been completed.
2)
Wood Soffit and Fascia Repair
a)
Remove damaged soffit and fascia pieces and replace with wood boards of same dimension, shape and
profile.
b)
Caulk, prime, and paint.
3)
Painting
a)
Scrape areas as needed, avoiding damage to material.
b)
Apply one coat of primer, and two coats of paint.
4)
Roofing
a)
Remove multiple layers of asphalt roofing and/or additional layers of roofing materials.
b)
Repair decking with boards of same thickness, (plywood, chipboard, or 1x6 boards for decking.)
c)
Drip edge may be installed. Paint exposed edge to match fascia.
d)
Gutters may be removed and replaced if necessary for roof installation.
e)
No changes will be made to the roof pitches, gables, or valleys.
f)
Rer/oof with architectural shingles.
