Identification of compliant repair work of SW chimney in response to damage from a fallen tree limb.
Reconstruction of NW chimney. Repair and maintenance of gutter system.
1)
Brick and Mortar Repair on SW chimney
a)
Repair chimney with the existing bricks in the same configuration as the original where the brick
integrity is intact.
b)
Replace any missing or damaged brick with period correct masonry. Repoint mortar joints with
period correct mortar and point style.
c)
Brick will be repointed with mortar that matches in composition —such as Type N—color,
strength, and joint style where mortar is missing or cracked.
d)
Flashing to be copper installed in step pattern in the mortar joints of the masonry.
2)
Reconstruction of NW chimney
a)
Reconstruct chimney with the existing bricks in the same configuration as the original where the
brick integrity is intact.
b)
Replace any missing or damaged brick with period correct masonry. Repoint mortar joints with
period correct mortar and point style.
c)
Brick will be repointed with mortar that matches in composition —such as Type N—color,
strength, and joint style where mortar is missing or cracked.
d)
Flashing to be copper installed in step pattern in the mortar joints of the masonry.
e)
Reinstall existing chimney cap. If a new chimney cap is necessary, replace with same style and
size copper chimney cap.
3)
Gutters
a)
Clean existing gutters.
b)
Replace failed gutters with gutters of same type and location.
c)
Downspouts to be in same location as before.
d)
Paint downspouts as desired to camouflage.
4)
Obtaining all necessary permits.
