The Quapaw Line market (big stone marker at the
intersection of 9th and Commerce on the Southeast corner)
can not be moved without a COA. It is visible from the
street. It is site specific in a way, it on the original line.
However, the line goes north south, so it could be moved
farther south along that line and be in the park. The line is
shown in purple on the sketch to the right. However, it will
lose the prominence it has at that location.
On the sculpture they want to move is in the middle of the
park, this is not visible from the street (the new Korean
one). This should be staff approval. They just need to let
us know from and to where.
The sidewalks could be a different issue.
Typically, a person can build less than they asked for. And
if you do something that is not visible from the street, it is
staff review (per the ordinance).
This request is to move a sidewalk from the north side of
the crescent drive to the south side. This new sidewalk will
extend to 9th street on both ends. They will be installing
less linear feet of sidewalk than previously requested.
