HomeMy WebLinkAbout21993 1 ORDINANCE NO. 21,993 2 3 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND LITTLE ROCK, ARK., ORDINANCE NO. 4 21,984 (APRIL 20, 2021), TO INCREASE THE AMOUNT FOR THE 5 UPGRADE OF TICE EXTENSION OF THE SERVICE AGREEMENT 6 WITH MOTOROLA SOLUTIONS, INC., FOR THE CITY'S RADIO 7 INFRASTRUCTURE EQUIPMENT UTILIZED BY THE 8 COMMUNICATIONS DIVISION; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS, Little Rock, Ark., Ordinance No 21,984 (April 20, 2021) modified Little Rock, Ark., 1 1 Ordinance No.21,729(May 21,2019);and, 12 WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 21,729 provided an increase to the Maintenance Agreement with 13 Motorola Solutions, Inc., for the upgrade of the extension of the Maintenance Agreement for the City's 14 Radio Infrastructure Equipment used by the Little Rock Police Department Communications Division; 15 and, 16 WHEREAS, after the Maintenance Agreement approved of by Ordinance No. 21,729 was fully 17 executed by both parties, the Little Rock Police Department learned that there a been a price increase in 18 Motorola's Astro System Essential Plus Package, for Dispatch Console Support prior to the City's 19 execution of the Maintenance Agreement;and, 20 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Police Department is prepared to use monies in its budget in order to 21 pay for the additional funds warranted by this price increase and the accompanying increase in taxes and 22 fees;and, 23 WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 21,729 provided for the sole-source purchase of a Maintenance 24 Agreement from Motorola Solutions, Inc., in the amount of One Hundred Forty-Two Thousand, One 25 Hundred Thirty-Nine and 05/100 Dollars($142,139.05), including applicable taxes and fees;and, 26 WHEREAS, the Maintenance Agreement is for the Radio Infrastructure System which includes 27 maintenance on Dispatch Center Consoles, Mach Alert hardware, microwave links, and the radio IP 28 logger which is utilized by the Little Rock Police Department Communications Division;and, 29 WHEREAS,the initial term of this Maintenance Agreement with Motorola Solutions, Inc., expired 30 on or about January 1, 2021, and the Service Agreement is the first of the two (2), one-(1) year 31 extensions; and, 32 WHEREAS,LRPD has determined that it would be in the City's best interests to upgrade the Service 33 Agreement package; and, 34 WHEREAS, the original price of the first extension of the Maintenance Agreement with the [Page 1 of 21 1 upgraded service agreement package is for One Hundred Fifty-One Thousand,Five Hundred Thirteen and 2 28/100 Dollars($151,513.28)and be for the period of January 1,2021,through December 31,2021; and, 3 WHEREAS,the price of the Astro System Essential Plus Package for Dispatch Console Support has 4 increased, as have the amounts of taxes and fees, in an increase to the Maintenance Agreement in the 5 amount of Nine Thousand,Two Hundred Sixty-Five Dollars($9,265.00), and the amended amount of the 6 entire agreement is One Hundred Sixty Thousand, Seven Hundred Seventy-Eight and 28/100 Dollars 7 ($160,778.28); and, 8 WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend Ordinance No. 21,984 to account for the increase in price of 9 the Astro System Essential Plus Package for Dispatch Console Support. 10 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 11 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 12 Section 1. Ordinance No. 21,984 is hereby amended to authorize the City Manager to amend the 13 Maintenance Agreement with Motorola Solutions, Inc., to increase the amount of payment for the Astro 14 System Essential Plus Package for Dispatch Console Support in an amount of Nine Thousand, Two 15 Hundred Sixty-Five Dollars ($9,265.00), resulting in an amended amount of the entire Maintenance 16 Agreement, including the resulting increase in taxes and fees, of One Hundred Sixty Thousand, Seven 17 Hundred Seventy-Eight and 28/100 Dollars($160,778.28). 18 Section 2. Funds for the specific agreement authorized by this ordinance are available in the City's 19 911 Wireless Fund, Account No. 220512-61350. 20 Section 3. Severability. In the event any portion of this ordinance is declared or adjudged to be 21 invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this 22 ordinance, which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or 23 unconstitutional was not originally a part of this ordinance. 24 Section 4.Repealer.
