If the gate swings out but not in the right-of-way, the 20 ft minimum is measured from the end of the gates when opened. The maximum width of the concrete apron is 20 ft. On her property, the driveway can be as wide as desired. Just to be sure on minimums and maximums, they can have a one inch radius on the driveway and be fine? And the concrete apron is twenty feet or till she gets to her property line, whichever is the shorter distance? I told her the gate must be placed a minimum of 20 ft from the street. I also told her a maximum 20 ft concrete driveway apron must be installed between the sidewalk and the street with a maximum 5 ft radius. If the sidewalk is removed and reinstalled as part of the new driveway, it must be constructed to meet ADA standards. On her property which probably begins at the back of the sidewalk, I told her the driveway could be concrete or asphalt. Beyond the right-of-way it can be asphalt, gravel or concrete. We are interested in the location of the gate and how it functions. What don’t you have the person call me at 371-4817. Thanks, Vince _____________________________________________ From: Minyard, Brian Sent: Monday, August 06, 2012 1:14 PM To: Floriani, Vince Subject: PW regulations I have an application to put a driveway which will involve a curb cut and automatic fence opener at 900 Rock Street. It is on the sw corner of Rock and 9th. What are the regulations on what type of surface she uses on the driveway in the ROW? Curb cuts permission? Which way the gate swings, out, in or sliding? Do we (PW) care what the surface of the driveway is on her property? I just wanted to check to see what PW rules were on this. Thanks.
