RESOLUTION NO. 12,298
3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
4 INCREASE THE PUBLIC WORKS BOND - SURFACING CONTRACT
5 WITH CRANFORD CONSTRUCTION BY TWO HUNDRED
6 THOUSAND DOLLARS ($200,000.00), TO INCLUDE THE PAVING OF
7 FLEET SERVICES VEHICLE STORAGE LOT; AND FOR OTHER
8 PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS, Public Works has an existing contract with Cranford Construction
11 Company for resurfacing of city streets, at a cost of $50.01 per ton, and
12 WHEREAS, the Fleet Services Vehicle Storage Lot is in need of resurfacing and
13 if the City re -bids the project to include the storage lot, the cost is estimated to be $57.00
14 per ton due to the increase in fuel prices, and
15 WHEREAS, by increasing the contract with Cranford Construction Company,
16 the City will save approximately $25,000.00;
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
18 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
19 Section 1. The Board of Directors authorizes the City Manager to increase the
20 Public Works bond - surfacing contract with Cranford Construction by Two Hundred
21 Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00) to include the paving of Fleet Services vehicle storage
22 lot.
23 Section 2. Funding is available from 2004 Bond Issue funds.
24 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence,
25 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or
26 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining

I portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so
2 declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
3 resolution.
4 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that
5 are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent
6 of such inconsistency.
