Dear Ms. Gabrahana,
Your application HDC2020-026 for Siding and Columns, at 900 S Rock Street will be
heard before the Historic District Commission on January 7, 2021. The hearing will be
held in the William Grant Still Ballroom of the Robinson Center, 426 West Markham. The
meeting will begin at 4:00 p.m.
Your application will be item One on the agenda. You or your agent must be present in
order for the item to be heard.
Please follow directions exactly when giving ten days’ notice to all property owners as
stated in the application on page 3 instructions #4 and #5. Use “HDC2020-026” to
complete your mailing labels as shown in the instructions.
The application form states that “A description of materials for all exterior surfaces listed
above shall be provided to Staff at time of filing. Web site addresses are appropriate but
cut sheets of individual materials are preferred.” The following information will need to
be submitted to Staff by January 11, 2021 to complete your filing.
Walls: Your application states “wood siding”. Please provide more information on this
siding: i.e. stained cedar 4” lap siding in gable.
Columns: Your application states “two small cosmetic wood beams”. Please provide
more information on this siding: i.e. Two columns measuring ?” x?” comprised of solid
wood posts or fabricated with ?” x ?” boards.
The above list was generated from Sections III - VII in the MacArthur Park Historic
District Guidelines for Rehabilitation and New Construction December 2016. Failure to
provide all information requested above in a complete manner before 5:00 pm January
11, 2021, will result in a Staff recommendation of Deferral on this application.
Please provide me a cover letter as soon as possible. That cover letter will be sent to
the Commissioners before the meeting and can more fully explain your project to them.

You will need to mail your notices no later than December 24, 2020. Please send me
your list of addresses as soon as possible. You will need to return the two page notice
form to me by December 31, 2020. Sign and date the date you mailed the letters
You will need to arrange to pick up two signs to post on the property no later than
December 28, 2021. I will give you two since you are on the corner. Please arrange to
come by and get them before December 24th. You may place them inside your
windows so that they do not get wet. Place one on each street side so that they will be
visible to drivers.
