Firstly, know that I have great respect for your position and understand it was a very difficult choice. Your ethics are admirable. I do, however, want to make a correction. I did not say that you couldn’t speak to anyone as a commissioner about the project. I indicated that it was an ethical decision and a “best practice” would be to forego speaking to anyone about the project. As this is an issue that will come before the Commission at its next meeting I advised that until a policy had been determined an put in place it would be best if you didn’t speak to anyone about it. However, that was not a legal mandate as the issue is an ethical one until such a policy has been passed and implemented by the Commission. While I do not expect this will have any effect on your resignation I wanted to set the record straight. More importantly, I wanted to thank you for your service on the Commission. I have truly enjoyed working with you and admire your knowledge of and passion about historic preservation. I wish you the best of luck and hope to have the opportunity to work with you again soon. You are an asset to the community and will be sorely missed.
