Good day Historic District Commission Members:
The Coalition of Little Rock Neighborhoods supports the application for a Certificate of
Appropriateness requested by Little Rock Parks and Recreation, and supported by the MacPark
Group, and the City Parks Conservancy, for the MacArthur Park Unlimited Playground.
The playground will be built with equipment designed to be accessible to all regardless of their
abilities. The new playground will be located near the center of MacArthur Park nearby and
complementary to the Blooming Sculpture and the Multi-Use Courts.
The MacArthur Park Unlimited Playground will showcase Little Rock ’s inclusiveness and diversity.
Located near the center of the park, the Unlimited Playground presents a new act ivity to enhance
Little Rock’s oldest park.
The perimeter of MacArthur Park features the new Arkansas Arts Center, the MacArthur Museum of
Arkansas, the Multi-Use Courts, the MacArthur Unleashed Dog Park, and the Little Rock Firehouse
Hostel and Museum. The MacArthur Park Unlimited Playground brings life and vitality to the park ’s
interior providing a destination for families with special needs children throughout Little Rock.
The Coalition of Little Rock Neighborhoods supports the application for a Certificate of
