Historic District Commission Members:
The Little Rock Downtown Neighborhood Association supports the application for a Certificate
of Appropriateness requested by Little Rock Parks and Recreation, and endorsed by the
MacPark Group, and the City Parks Conservancy, for the MacArthur Park Unlimited
Playground. This totally new playground concept will be built with equipment that will be
accessible to all regardless of their abilities. The unlimited playground will have a central
position in MacArthur Park near and complementary to the Blooming Sculpture and the Multi-
Use Courts as well as the new Arkansas Arts Center.
Located near the center of the park, the MacArthur Park Unlimited Playground presents a
new activity to enhance Little Rock’s oldest park—a key component of our Downtown
Neighborhood. The perimeter of MacArthur Park features the new Arkansas Arts Center, the
MacArthur Museum of Arkansas, Multi-Use Courts, the MacArthur Unleashed Dog Park, and
the Little Rock Firehouse Hostel and Museum. The MacArthur Park Unlimited Playground
brings life and vitality to the heart of the park providing a destination for all families including
those with special needs children.
The Little Rock Downtown Neighborhood Association supports the application for a Certificate
of Appropriateness.
