Hi Brian,
The project at 923 McMath is coming along. Egress for the upstairs carriage house apartment has created a situation we
hadn’t considered. The existing staircase is inside and is undersized for proper ingress and egress.
We would like to solve this problem by building a free standing exterior staircase on the North side of the carriage house
that would terminate at the downstairs porch, similar to what is in the picture below. It would have a landing as you
enter the apartment door. It would also have a simple shed roof over the door to protect tenants from the elements
when entering and exiting.
