Your application HDC2020-019 for Removal of Wall and construction of fence,
dumpster enclosure, and parking lot with gate, at 904 S Scott St will be heard before the
Historic District Commission at their next meeting. A date has been requested from the
City Administration Office. I will let you know as soon as I know the date and list all of
the deadlines relative to that hearing date.
Your application will be item Two on the agenda. You or your agent must be present in
order for the item to be heard.
Please send me jpegs of the 14 photos that you submitted in your application
The application form states that "A description of materials for all exterior surfaces listed
above shall be provided to Staff at time of filing. Web site addresses are appropriate but
cut sheets of individual materials are preferred." The following information will need to
be submitted to Staff by September 28, 2020 to complete your filing. If you are not
including any of the items below, please respond with "not applicable".
Fencing on site: Provide details and locations on fencing, size, material, and finish of
six foot tall privacy fence. Is this a vertical picket solid board 6' tall with dog-eared
pickets? Any exaggerated or decorative corner posts? Will pedestrian gates match the
fence or be accented in height, design etc?
On the portion of the fence where the gate slides back, is the non-movable fence
portion wood or metal? Is the metal gate the model shown in the attached photo?
Where is the pedestrian gate from the 3' concrete walk to the building, covered with a
trellis? i do not see it on the plans.
Trellis: Provide a concept drawing or photograph of what the trellis is to look like. How
tall will it be?
Notary: You will need to get the Authorization of Representation notarized.
The above list was generated from Sections III - VII in the MacArthur Park Historic
District Guidelines for Rehabilitation and New Construction December 2016. Failure to
provide all information requested above in a complete manner before 5:00 pm
September 28, 2020, will result in a Staff recommendation of Deferral on this application.

1. 6' tall solid wood fence: the wood fencing around the house will be Pressure treated Southern
Yellow Pine Dog Ear Fence Panels — See attached illustration.
2. Solid wood fence 2' taller than trach receptacle: Maximum 6' tall Pressure treated Southern
Yellow Pine Dog Ear Fence Panels— See attached illustration same as #1..
3. 6' tall open metal sliding gate and fence: Black metal fencing (see attached fence) —Metal gate
will slide behind coordinating metal fence.
a. Montage Fencing — Montage Plus fusion welded steel construction fencing. Gate and
fence will be 72 inch tall steel. Fence pickets and gates will have Triad Style finials as in
attached illustration.
b. Gate openers will be IiftMaster 24 VDC commercial high traffic operators as in attached
illustration.
4. Trellis: NOT APPLICABLE -After careful consideration and due to the longterm maintenance
created, the trellis located at the rear of the property between the parking and the house will
not be included in this project.
5. Asphalt paving: Black Asphalt with painted parking spots
6. Precast Concrete Wheelstops: Standard, High Country Concrete 5"x9" x72" concrete parking
block. See attached description.

Subject: Product Statement
Product: 5X9X72 concrete parking block
This product is Manufactured by High Country Concrete
Products. The block is poured with a 4000# concrete
mix, made up of type I ashgrove cement, concrete
sand, 3/4 minus granite rock. This block is also reinforc-
ed with 2 - 1/2"X 5' grade rebar. The block is then cured
for 48 hours before taken into direct sunlight.
