HomeMy WebLinkAbout15385 1 RESOLUTION NO. 15,385 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE CENTRAL ARKANSAS LIBRARY 5 SYSTEM TO ADMINISTER A GRANT TO CONDUCT A CITYWIDE 6 CAMPAIGN TO ADDRESS HUNGER IN THE COMMUNITY; AND FOR 7 OTHER PURPOSES. 8 9 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock was awarded Ninety Thousand Dollars ($90,000.00) from the 10 National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA) for a Parks as Community Nutrition Hubs Grant dated 11 May 18,2020; and, 12 WHEREAS, over the past three (3) years, the City has partnered with NRPA and the Central 13 Arkansas Library System(CALS)and the Be Mighty Program to administer several grants;and, 14 WHEREAS,NRPA has agreed to allow the City to sub grant funds to CALS for this purpose;and, 15 WHEREAS, the City will remit to Eighty-Five Thousand Dollars ($85,000.00) to CALS for the 16 implementation of the grant and shall utilize the remaining Five Thousand Dollars($5,000.00)for outreach 17 and marketing. 18 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 19 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 20 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a Sub-Award Agreement with CALS in an 21 amount not to exceed Eighty-Five Thousand Dollars ($85,000.00) to administer the Parks as Community 22 Nutrition Hubs Grant, with the remaining Five Thousand Dollars($5,000.00)to be utilized by the City for 23 outreach and marketing of the program. 24 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 25 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 26 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 27 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 28 resolution. 29 Section 3.Repealer.
