HomeMy WebLinkAbout15384 1 RESOLUTION NO. 15,384 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AMEND SECTIONS 1 AND 2 OF LITTLE ROCK, 4 ARK., RESOLUTION NO. 14,290 (FEBRUARY 23, 2016), TO APPROVE 5 AN INCREASE IN THE CONTRACT FEE WITH LOSE DESIGN BY 6 SEVEN THOUSAND, EIGHTY-THREE DOLLARS ($7,083.00), FOR AN 7 AMENDED AMOUNT OF ONE HUNDRED FIFTY-SEVEN THOUSAND, 8 EIGHTY-THREE DOLLARS ($157,083.00), FOR THE PURPOSE OF 9 UPDATING THE 2001 PARKS MASTER PLAN; AND FOR OTHER 10 PURPOSES. 11 12 WHEREAS, in Little Rock, Ark., Resolution No. 14,290 (February 23, 2016)the Board of Directors 13- authorized a contract with Lose& Associates to update the 2001 Little Rock Parks and Recreation Master 14 Plan in the amount of One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars($150,000.00); and, 15 WHEREAS, the 2001 Little Rock Parks and Recreation Master Plan had not been updated since its 16 creation; and, 17 WHEREAS, Park Industry Standards recommend that master plans be updated every ten (10) years 18 to ensure service levels are still relevant and appropriate; and, 19 WHEREAS,a relevant and updated Parks Master Plan is also essential to qualifying for accreditation 20 for parks and recreation agencies; and, 21 WHEREAS, an approved Consultant Selection Commission received four (4) submissions for 22 consideration as consultants to perform the update and Lose & Associates was determined to be the most 23 qualified for a contract in the amount of One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars($150,000.00);and, 24 WHEREAS, Lose Design, formally known as Lose & Associates, has incurred additional expenses 25 due to additional data gathering and travel necessary to finalize the Master Parks Plan and request an 26 increase in the contract fee of Seven Thousand, Eighty-Three Dollars($7,083.00) for a total contract cost 27 of One Hundred Fifty-Seven Thousand, Eighty-Three Dollars($157,083.00). 28 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 29 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 30 Section 1: The Board of Directors hereby approves a contract increase of Seven Thousand, Eighty- 31 Three Dollars ($7,083.00), for a total contract cost of One Hundred Fifty-Seven Thousand, Eighty-Three 32 Dollars ($157,083.00) with Lose Design to update the 2001 Little Rock Parks and Recreation Master 33 Plan. [Page 1 of 21 1 Section 2: Funding was appropriated in the amount of One Hundred, Fifty Thousand Dollars 2 ($150,000.00) in the 2015 Budget for these purposes. The contract cost increase of Seven Thousand, 3 Eighty-Three Dollars($7,083.00) is available in Account No. 108459-S45A439. 4 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 5 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 6 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 7 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 8 resolution. 9 Section 3. Repealer.
