3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH LANDSCAPE STRUCTURES, INC., IN THE
5 TOTAL AMOUNT OF ONE HUNDRED FIFTY-NINE THOUSAND, NINE
6 HUNDRED NINETY-EIGHT AND 08/100 DOLLARS ($159,998.08), FOR
7 THE CONTRUCTION AND INSTALLATION OF A NEW PLAYGROUND
8 LOCATED AT WAKEFIELD PARK; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS,the Parks & Recreation Department requests a contract with Landscape Structures, Inc.,
11 for the construction of a new playground located at Wakefield Park for a total amount of One Hundred
12 Fifty-Nine Thousand, Nine Hundred Ninety-Eight and 08/100 Dollars ($159,998.08), which includes
13 equipment and installation; and,
14 WHEREAS,Parks&Recreation Staff applied for,and the City received an award letter on December
15 8, 2020, from the State of Arkansas for the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism's Outdoor
16 Recreation Grant,for Wakefield Park and MacArthur Park in the amount of Two Hundred Fifty Thousand
17 Dollars($250,000.00),with the City to provide Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars($250,000.00)as the
18 "dollar-for-dollar"match for the grant using Account No. 108459-S45G047; and,
19 WHEREAS, this Project, which will require One Hundred Fifty-Nine Thousand, Nine Hundred
20 Ninety-Eight and 08/100 Dollars($159,998.08)of the grant funds to be used at Wakefield Park was quoted
21 with Sourcewell Agreement No. 030117-LSI.
22 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
23 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
24 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with Landscape Structures,Inc.
25 for the construction of a new playground located at Wakefield Park for a total amount of One Hundred
26 Fifty-Nine Thousand, Nine Hundred Ninety-Eight and 08/100 Dollars ($159,998.08), which includes
27 equipment and installation.
28 Section 2. The funds for the contract will be provided by the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tour-
29 ism's Outdoor Recreation Grants Program for a 2020 Grant in Account No. 108459-S45G047.
30 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
31 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
32 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
33 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
34 resolution.

1 Section 4. Repealer. All laws,ordinances, resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
2 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
