Dear Mr. Moore,
Your application HDC2020-018 for Fence with gate, at 901 Cumberland St will be heard before
the Historic District Commission at their next meeting. A date has been requested from the City
Administration Office. I will let you know as soon as I know the date and list all of the deadlines
relative to that hearing date.
Your application will be item One on the agenda. You or your agent must be present in order
for the item to be heard.
The application form states that “A description of materials for all exterior surfaces listed above
shall be provided to Staff at time of filing. Web site addresses are appropriate but cut sheets of
individual materials are preferred.” The following information will need to be submitted to Staff
by September 28, 2020 to complete your filing.
Fencing on site: Will the gate on 9th Street swing into the side yard, in other words, will there
be any decorative hinges showing on the outside of the fence? Will the gate be accented in any
other way or will it blend into the fence with the same height and style?
Neighboring fences: Have you talked with your neighbors about them installing a portion of
fence to close off their area of their side yard? They would need to file a separate application or
work something out between the two of you.

result in a Staff recommendation of Deferral on this application.
