Description of Project: Exterior painting on trim, improved signage, replacement skylights, new
terra cotta coping on pediment and parapet walls.
Comments
The Violin Shop is a contributing structure in the MacArthur Park Historic District and one of a few of the
district’s commercial structures. The proposed project to upgrade materials on the exterior of the
building is compatible with the MacArthur Park Historic District guidelines as long as the signage
complies with the guidance found in the MacArthur Park Historic District Guidelines for Rehabilitation
and New Construction.
We are encouraged to learn that this project may be funded by Main Street Arkansas’s Mini-Grant
Program.
