RESOLUTION NO. 12,046
3 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A CHANGE ORDER TO GARVER
4 ENGINEERS FOR ADDITIONAL DESIGN WORK ON THE
5 SWAGGERTY BRANCH DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS
6 (ROOSEVELT ROAD TO WRIGHT AVENUE) PROJECT; AND FOR
7 OTHER PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS, a contract was previously authorized and executed with Garver
10 Engineers to stabilize the deteriorating rock -lined walls of Swaggerty Branch between
11 Wright Avenue and Roosevelt Road as part of the 2004 Bond Capital Improvement
12 Program, and
13 WHEREAS, changes to enclose Swaggerty Branch rather than stabilize the walls
14 have been requested by area residents and endorsed by the Project Progress Committee
15 that requires additional work and an increase in the contract amount, and
16 WHEREAS, the cost of enclosing Swaggerty Branch is more expensive than
17 originally budgeted to stabilize the walls and the project will now extend from
18 Roosevelt Road to somewhere in the vicinity of 20th or 21s' Street as funds allow; and
19 WHEREAS, the design consultant, Garver Engineers has submitted a change
20 order proposal for the additional work in the amount of $80,390 that is considered
21 reasonable.
22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
23 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
24 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a change order in
25 the amount of $80,390 for additional design services for the Swaggerty Branch Drainage
26 Improvements (Roosevelt Road to Wright Avenue) Project.
27 Section 2. Funding for the project is available from Account 315 - 220 -DP08.

Section 3. This resolution will be in full force and effect from and after the date
of its adoption.
