3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH GENE SUMMERS CONSTRUCTION, INC.,
5 IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED SEVENTY-FIVE
6 THOUSAND, TWO HUNDRED AND 80/100 DOLLARS ($275,200.80), FOR
7 THE WALKER STREET RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT, FROM 26TH
8 STREET TO 28TH STREET; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS, bids were solicited for the Walker Street Reconstruction Project, 26th to 28th Street,
11 Project No. 06-16-ST-262, Bid No. 1044; and,
12 WHEREAS, Gene Summers Construction, Inc., was the lowest responsive, responsible bid meeting
13 specifications.
14 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
15 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
16 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Gene Summers
17 Construction, Inc., for the Walker Street Reconstruction Project in an amount not to exceed Two Hundred
18 Seventy-Five Thousand,Two Hundred and 80/100 Dollars($275,200.80), which is the base bid amount of
19 Two Hundred Twenty-Nine Thousand, Three Hundred Thirty-Four Dollars ($229,334.00), plus 20%
20 contingencies.
21 Section 2. Funding for this project is from the 4-Cent Capital Improvement Sales and Compensating
22 Use Tax Funds and the Limited Tax General Obligation Capital Improvement Bonds as authorized by
23 Resolution No. 14,803.
24 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
25 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
26 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
27 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
28 resolution.
29 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances,resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with
30 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
