HomeMy WebLinkAboutletter from HodgesTo Whom It May Concern:
The message concerns the requested zoning and land use changes being sought for land located at the
northwest corner of the intersection of Cantrell Road and University Avenue.
My name is Norman Hodges and I am the President of the Heights Neighborhood Association (HNA). The
HNA is an organization with over 600 household members and about 50 businesses located in the
Heights neighborhood. All members pay annual dues to support the organization’s effort to improve
the neighborhood, seek infrastructure improvements/repairs, work with city government and officials
on neighborhood concerns such as zoning and land use, etc.
The HNA Board has voted without dissent to oppose the requested changes to the property mentioned
above. Additionally I have received several dozen emails from neighborhood (both HNA members and
others) residents who have unanimously opposed these zoning and land use changes. A good number
of neighborhood business owners have also contacted me to express their opposition to the requested
changes. All view the changes a detrimental to the neighborhood and to the homes of adjacent and
nearby residents. To restate, I have not received a single expression of support for these changes.
Along with many neighborhood residents I will be at the June 2nd meeting of the Planning Commission to
express strong opposition to the requested changes. It is our preference that the planning staff and
commission reject the requested changes as well.
Norman Hodges, HNA President
