There are four Land Use Plan changes for your to review. We will not meet on Wednesday December
19, but please review these four applications and send us any comments you may have. They will be on
the January 10 commission agenda.
A Change from Residential Low Density to Commercial along the north side of Cantrell Road across from
Reservoir Park.
A Change from Suburban Office to Mixed Commercial Industrial for several vacant lots in Mabelvale for
the tow company next door to use as an impound lot.
A Change from Light industrial to Mining (Hugh Taylor at Lawson Road) for the expansion of the mining
operation to the east.
A Change from Park Open Space to Mining south of Gillam Park, east of 1-530 for the expansion of the
mining operation to the south

Walter re the change on Cantrell Rdl across from Reservoir Park --- this seems highly
inappropriate to me and
gives every appearance of "stripping out" that section of Cantrell. What is the
reason for this proposed change?
Regards the PK OS to mining proposed change at Gillam Park--- how would that change
impact the Gillam Park use
and future plans --
hasn't that Park benefited from clean up- erosion control efforts over the past several
years? Is a mining ooperation
ompatable with those efforts? Isn't Gillam Park and its area part/close to planned
future use of the Fouche Bottoms
as an urban wetlands park?
