Re: New House to Be Built At 1414 Park Lane/HDC2020-015
Dear Mr. Minyard:
Our names are Frederick Gentry and Jason Taylor.
We live at 1612 Commerce Street.
Our Property is approximately 2 blocks away from 1414 Park Lane.
We were asked to review the design of the house that Tim Fox/TDF Family Revocable Trust wants to build at
1414 Park Lane, between 14th and 15th Streets.
We were asked to send this individualized copy of the form if:
(a) We like the house design;
(b) We think the design fits in well with the style of the houses in our neighborhood; and
(c) If we would like for the Historic District Commission to approve the request to approve construction
of the house as presently designed.
We do like the house design and we are requesting that the Commission approve the request of Tim Fox/TDF
Family Revocable Trust to build the house at 1414 Park Lane.
We are asking that the Commission please excuse the form aspect of this email but with Covid-19 it seemed better
to get this letter to you by circulating emails between neighbors rather than by people taki ng a petition door to
door to be physically signed.
Because of the decades of decline and distress to this neighborhood by city neglect, crime and natural disaster, it
has created vacant lots that have yet to be filled. It is very exciting to now live in a very architecturally and
ethnically diverse community.

So that you will know that we were informed of what the house design looks like as presently planned, we have
seen the house plans that were forwarded to us for our review and which we reviewed before sending you this
email. We were also given Mr. Fox’s email address in case we wanted to ask him any questions about the design
before making the decision to send you this letter.
We would like to thank the Commission for its time and attention to this matter and we are asking that the
Commission vote in favor of the planned design for 1414 Park Lane
Attached are modern homes that already exist in this area including ours.
Respectfully,
Frederick D. Gentry & Jason Taylor
