Brian Minyard From: Dale Pekar [mailto:dale.pekar@gmail.com] Sent: Friday, December 01, 2017 3:29 PM To: Minyard, Brian Subject: Concerns about the application for a garage addition at 1301 Scott 1--The drawing (Side Elevation 13th Street view) shows Vertical Paneled Hardie Siding but the cover letter shows Plytanium-Model # 198557 wood panel siding. The inconsistency needs to be resolved. 2--Vertical siding doesn't fit with the horizontal siding used in this area or with the horizontally arranged shingle siding elsewhere used on this house. 3--The drawing (Side Elevation 13th Street view) shows the door placed below the floor level. Such a low placement puts the top of the door well below the top of the corresponding windows which is not consistent with other doors in the area. The door needs to be raised at least to the level of the floor which would also make the door top more consistent with that commonly seen in the area. 4--The drawing (Side Elevation 13th Street view) shows door panel proportions not similar to the proportions found elsewhere in the area. 5--The drawing (Side Elevation 13th Street view) shows a belt board set at the lower level of the windows. To be consistent with other properties in the area, siding should be continued beneath the windows so that the belt board is below the siding, and narrower in width, to better correspond with the rest of the house. 6--The drawing (Rear Elevation Side View South) shows different garage doors (wood, sixteen panels) than those identified in the cover letter (steel, six panels). The inconsistency needs to be resolved. Doors should be congruous with the design of the addition and not detract from the parent structure or the area. Dale Pekar 1010 Rock Little Rock, AR
