Dear Sir or Madam:
Planning
Zoning and
Subdivision
A change to add of future Bike Paths to the Master Bike Plan section of the Master Street
Plan is under discussion. This would add a proposed path to the Plan Map. (There is no
proposal at this time to construct these paths.)
Staff is reviewing the addition of two Class I Bike Paths to the Bike Plan Map: one along
Jamison Creek from the River Trail to Foxcroft; and one along Coleman Creek from
UALR to Lee Avenue. You are invited to a meeting Wednesday, March 5, 2014 to
discuss these additions. Staff will be available from 5:00 to 7:00 PM for your
convenience to drop -by and discuss the changes. A Class I Bike Path is a paved path for
the use of bicycles and they may be along a street or an independent path such as along a
creek.
This meeting will be at the Fletcher Library, 823 North Buchanan Street. If you have any
comments or questions, send them to Walter Malone at the above address or

am saying at this point we do not have an answer where the path would be (in, along side, or along an adjacent street).

Are you saying that the Bike Path might be included as part of the ditch?

There is no design currently. The proposal is to add to the Plan Map the concept of a Class I route along
Coleman. As you are aware the creek is in the concrete ditch for portions of the alignment. There is no
design to share at this time. If this is added to the Plan, you would need to stay involved as the City
looks in the future as to how to make the connection proposed.

Dear Mr. Malone,
Thank you for your letter of 2/14/14. I am interested in the location of any proposed right-of-
way needed for the Bike Lanes, and how this may affect the property owned by the Louis and
June Nalley Revocable Trust. Can you provide me with any drawings as related to this
property? Will the proposed Bike Lane be on the east or west side of Coleman creek? Is it the
intent of the City of Little Rock to use the right of eminent domain condemnation, as needed, to
insure the desired right-of-way?
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Sincerely,
Louis T. Nalley, Jr.,
