Subject: Report on my three aciton items
Encouragement #1: 1 have previously sent a message to BACA that I believe the City Hall facility may already
meet the criteria for BACA to award City Hall with some recognition for having a Bike To Work facility. If I am
correct, we may already meet the requirement for Encouragement Item #1.
Encouragement #2: The Little Rock Rotary Club #99 is approaching its centennial year and will probably do a
major project in celebration. This club built the Miracle League Field in celebration of Rotary International's
centennial year so we know it is capable of a major project. I have begun lobbying the project selection
committee for a project in furtherance of our River Trail and if successful, this would meet the requirement for
Encouragement Item #2
Other Discussion Item #3: 1 am in contact with City Director Dean Kumpuris about the subject of a downtown bike
facility and have put him in touch with Ed Levy who is also named on this item. Obviously such a project would
also meet the requirements of Encouragement #2.
1 don't presume to consider this a final report on these items and will continue to work on them but wanted to give
this interim report in advance of the next BFCC meeting that I will be unable to attend.

Members of the City of Little Rock Bicycle Friendly Community Committee
Attached are the minutes of the December 16 meeting of the BFCC & the related summary
of the League of American Bicyclists' recommendations to Little Rock re achieving Bicycle
Friendly Community status. Please note that the minutes reflect specific responsibilities
assumed by the following committee members: Nat Banihatti (2 items); Cindy Dawson;
Bryan Day (2 items); Coreen Frasier; Ken Gould; Ed Levy (3 items); Walter Malone (2
items); Gene Pfeifer (3 items - Gene has reported on 1 item already); Claibanne Williamson
(2 items). The members with specific responsibilities should follow-up & report to the board
as soon as possible.
