Walter,
I agree. We need to get together and look at them. Thanks for drawing them in GIS
for us. Can we review it at the next meeting? What would be the best way to view the
map? If you can output it to cadd (auto cad or microstation) I could put it up on the
screen. Otherwise I suppose we could use hardcopies. Other options?

Okay guys, I have mapped the hand drawn routes into the GIS and have
reviewed these links (lots of repetition and similar routes -slight variations) and
lots outside of the City. Do you want me to add these to the GIS layer with the
ones from the hand drawn maps?
Someone is going to have to look at the resulting map and decide if some of
these can be collapsed on to one road or route. Also is the idea that the hand
drawn are all class III and that these routes would be Class III also (unless a
Class I or Class II already excesses?)
I will contact MetroPlan and see if I can get a digital of the map you used to
draw on (for the routes it shows)

I went to Metro Plan this afternoon and talked to
Richard and Susan. We actually found the maps after
looking up in the attic and asking around. I asked if I
could use the maps and take them to Walter ---they
said fine. After going to City Hall and two other
places, I finally found out that Walter Malone's office
is down across from the Police Dept. in Planning and
Development. (Good education for me) Walter is out
of the office until next Monday. I left the maps with
Janet with a note explaining and my card. I will send
Walter an email and make sure he understands that we
will help him combine the maps, if needed, into a
better system. We have four sources: Metro Maps,
Bikely.com, BACAR.ounder transportation, and the
Maps that our committee drew. People from the Bike
Club and others have been directed to put their maps
on Bikely.com so that people can download them if
needed. I hope to eventually do what Van wants to do
and make our bike lanes biker friendly, but getting
them mapped is the first step. Why aren't the City and
Metro Plan working together? They sure do alot of
double work and spend alot of time on the same
things.(I was thinking this as I was riding my bike
with the maps between Metro Plan and the Planning
