Thanks for a response. I'm extremely disappointed that you are unwilling to discuss the proposed rezoning
application or the changes we proposed to almost two months ago. The overwhelming majority of the land
included in this application came into the City as R2 property and has never been the subject of any zoning or
rezoning proposal, yet the City has made considerable changes and adjustments to much of the contiguous area
over the years. The "existing zoning pattern" does not support the construction of the collector streets or in any
way accomplish the completion of the City's Master Street Plan as envisioned over a decade ago when Rahling
Road was constructed. If built as currently configured, the MF18 property will be far closer to the property line of
existing homes in the Wellington neighborhood than as proposed in the revised plan. Frankly, I'm at a loss to
understand your position.
Given your position that you basically see no reason for any further discussions, I'll so advise our client and let
you know if there is any reason to meet this week.
Sincerely,

Back in the office and trying to get caught up on things. Before I responded to your e-mail, I wanted to first meet
with staff. I did meet with staff this morning and they briefed me on the status of the application and the
neighborhood meeting. I also asked if the application had been amended and Monte said no. If you are thinking
of amending the request, the information needs to be submitted this week. This is to ensure that the item stays
on the October 2 agenda.
Our position remains the same and has not changed from when we last met. We feel that the existing zoning
pattern for the area is appropriate and cannot support any changes to the current zoning.

Gentlemen:
Its been a week since our meeting at Terry Library last Thursday evening. After the meeting I expressed
my concerns that we have not had any feedback from you all. I understand that this is a complex
proposal and that it has evolved since the initial filing. On the other hand, we have voluntarily deferred
past today's meeting and we've heard nothing more that would give us any reason that you will be ready
to discuss it with us in time for the October 2 meeting which now looms large on the horizon. After
today's meeting, I'd be sincerely grateful if you all would make time for a meaningful meeting on this
proposal. If your position hasn't changed from our last meeting and you are still of the opinion that you
cannot work with us on any aspect of what has been proposed, you need only to tell me that in an email
and I'll proceed otherwise.
The courtesy of a prompt response will be much appreciated.
Sincerely,
01
