Amen on the capital improvement. I got the impression last night that they think redevelopment is
imminent or that the city is committing to make the improvements in the near future.

Subject: Normandy, drafting exception to incorporate into amendment to University ROW
Be sure to forward this to Steve Beck or whomever in Public Works who will be helping
you guys craft the neighborhood -friendly exception to incorporate into the master street
plan amendment for University ROW reduction...
To ensure that the exception is_prcrc I,ga1_o►id_uncomplicatedto provide additional
pedestrian safeguards for the logical crossing from Normandy neighborhood across
University Ave to 'O' street, please collaborate with the neighborhood professional
architects, John Greer and Carolyn Polk, who were at last night's meeting and seem to
understand this process and intent more clearly. Will help neighborhood buy -in.
Naturally, if we are still able to get this back to the city board for a hearing in a few
weeks, it will still bear repeating publicly to manage common neighborhood expectations
that this exception and amendment is a standard for some future redevelopment on that
segment (for which there are no plans) and is not a commitment to initiate a capital
improvement.
Salut!
