Tony and Walter,
I was not aware of Storthz property owner requesting a variance from ROW dedication as a part of his rezoning
request. Item #12.
The Midtown redevelopment board was aware of the rezoning but not this special request by applicant for ROW
reduction on University.
I plan on coming to the Planning Commission meeting this Thursday to possibly say something re: the ROW
variance in case the application goes to the regular hearing phase. To say, that is, absent any new information
on traffic projections along that entire stretch of University Ave from Markham to Cantrell.... it's very hard to justify
a special pocket ROW reduction. The applicant ought to be happy with a franchise for the parking area.
Please let me know if you think its best to stick my nose out of this.
And, I don't mind sharing my concerns with director Hurst that this ad-hoc, site-specific ROW reduction is not
necessarily a good idea
