Dear Friends:
As you know, the Women's Division of the General Board of Global Ministries conducted its
semi-annual meeting this month. I assume that you are already aware that the Board approved
the removal of the buildings mentioned in the request letter submitted on February 4, 2008. A
letter to that effect is en route to you.
In addition, the Board considered the matter of the connector road. They quite agree with your
assessment that it is preferable for the property value and usefulness if the location of proposed
connecter is moved to follow the property boundary to the north.
However, they are concerned about the language in Section 2 of the proposed Ordinance which
stipulates that "the road shall not be built as long as the land remains zoned "OS" Open Space."
This is not a matter within our control. The zoning is changing as the surrounding developments
take place. We would much prefer that the Commission agree to defer opening the road for so
long as the property continues to be used for its present purposes.
1 assume that this change will be acceptable to you. Please let me know if you would like me to
revise the letter to the Planning Commission to include this language, or if you would like to
contact them with respect to this matter.
