Markham St. Little Rock, AR 72201 ATTN: Donna James Dear Ms. James: The signatories to this letter Include concerned residents of Valley Park Drive in Little Rock. Our homes are located on Valley Park Drive between Pebble Beach Drive and Dorado Beach Drive. It is of serious concern to the undersigned residents that the completion of the crucial extension of Dorado Beach Drive to Hinson Road has not been completed and is facing chaileng despite the resoigtion reached onL M v 29 2003 and ado ted by the oard of DireStors 00 June 3, 2003, lilt resolution rovided for e comaletiorl of Doridg BgxSh Drive throijgb to Hinson Road gaort the ear ler oft saleldevglolmeut of ane+ one lot from L 7 or 63-83 ox 4$ mouths fromit t r ined b She d wltith wa 3 2 3 As you are aware, we have endured signifleaut traffic flow Increase to our street over the past several years, with the Anticipation tbat a solution was forthcoming soon. The Increase in traffic has endaugered all of us, especially children, With the increased traffic has come increased average speed of passenger and construction vehicles. Clearly, our street has been forced to service a signifle4ally larger residential area that was ever intended. Our street was not intended to serve as a carrier street and has no sidewalks, no streetlights, and is very narrow. The decision of the Commission on August 26, 2004, must not be influenced by economics or the desires of a few persons. The leaders of our City must do what is right to fulfill the promises that have been made and to protect and benefit the entire area affected. The extension of Dorado Beach Drive to Hinson Road wJH achieve sound public policy by evenly distributing the traffic flow to the appropriate areas server], without causing the residents of Valley Park Drive to be unduly burdened with more than their fair share, Otherwise, the long-exlstiag and established neighborhoods of Valley Park Drive and Pebble Beach Drive will be forced to suffer the full negative effects of the newly developed neigbborltood9, unfairly and unsafely. AUG -18-2004 20:27 HYDEN MIRON,FOSTER 501 376 7047 P.03 We appreciate your attentfoD to our concern and expect that these issues rvlll be given proper conslderatioa at the meeting, scheduled for August 26, 2004.
