Powell RE: Application for Re -Zoning and Land Use Amendment 1411, 1417, 1421, 1501 South Park Street Little Rock, Arkansas Greetings, This note is my endorsement of the Park Central Housing Development/Washington Heritage House Project submitted by Grace Hayes Blagdon, Patricia Washington McGraw, PhD., and Kwendeche, AIA. I wholeheartedly support this project as an innovative and exciting endeavor. It is an appropriate companion and a true complement to the Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site, to Little Rock Central High School, to the existing museum, to the proposed visitor?s center, thus, to the overall neighborhood, and to the City of Little Rock. The proposed programs from this project that will address human relations, global issues and improve communications among peoples, will be good for the neighborhood, the city, state, and the nation. I urge the Little Rock Planning Commission and any authority that reviews this application to approve this very worthy concept. By approving this application, a strong and lasting relationship between the aforementioned entities, the City of Little Rock, and most of all, the neighborhood, shall evolve. Mixed-use 12/8/2005 Page 2 of 2 communities exist all over the world ? and certainly in many areas in Little Rock. The concept of this project speaks volumes. Sometimes opportunity knocks only once. We encourage the Little Rock Planning Commission to open the door! Thank you. 12/8/2005
