3 A RESOLUTION TO CHANGE THE NAME OF THAT PORTION OF
4 WEST 41St STREET, BETWEEN JOHN BARROW ROAD AND
5 MALLOY STREET, TO RAYMOND SAVAGE DRIVE. (G -25 -193)

7 WHEREAS, an application was filed by the membership of Rosedale Church of
8 God in Christ requesting that the name of that portion of West 41s' between John
9 Barrow Road and Malloy Street be changed to Raymond Savage Drive to honor the
10 founder and long -time pastor of the Church, and
11 WHEREAS, the majority of the residents living adjacent to the affected portion of
12 West 41s' Street have signed the petition in support of the name change, and
13 WHEREAS, West 41s' Street extends only two blocks West of John Barrow Road,
14 ending at Malloy Street, and none of the abutting properties take an address from West
15 41s' Street, and
16 WHEREAS, at its March 2, 2006, meeting, the Little Rock Planning Commission
17 voted to recommend approval of the requested street name change by a vote of 10 ayes,
18 0 noes and 1 absent.
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
20 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
21 Section 1. The name of that portion of West 41St Street between John Barrow
22 Road and Malloy Street is hereby changed to Raymond Savage Drive.
23 Section 2. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
24 adoption and the City Manager is hereby directed to notify all City Departments and
25 agencies of said change.
