While we appreciate the fact that the Land Use Plan does not change the zoning or tax structure, we do feel it necessary voice our objections to the proposed change. This property is owned by Eventure America which operates under the dba of Little Rock Tours and Travel. We are a charter bus company and very much a commercial organization. The categories that would be most obvious for our land use would either be light industrial or commercial. There are no occupied single family dwellings even visible from the front of our location. We request, therefore, that our objections to the proposed change be noted. The Department of Planning and Development has been in the process of reviewing the Land Use Plan for the Ward 1 area, which is generally located west of Interstate 30, south of I-630. The proposed changes are a result of discussions and review by city staff. Staff is proposing to change your property from "Commercial" to "Single Family." I am attaching a map with the proposed changes for your area. I am also including a list of the definitions and abbreviations for our Land Use Plan categories. It is thought by Staff that these changes will help the Future Land Use Plan best show the likely future uses for these properties. A change to the Land Use Plan does not change your zoning or taxes. Please contact us indicating your opinions on the proposed changes before July 1, 2011. If no response is given, the planning staff will view this as an acceptance of the change in the Land Use Plan category. You will get further notification prior to the changes being taken before the Planning Commission and later to the Board of Directors.
