HomeMy WebLinkAboutminutesOctober 31, 2013 ITEM NO.: 6 FILE NO.: LU13-11-01 Name: Land Use Plan Amendment —1-430 Planning District Location: 10101 and 10103 West 20th Street Request: Residential Low Density to Residential Medium Density Source: Kenny Whitfield PROPOSAL / REQUEST: A Land Use Plan amendment in the 1-430 Planning District from Residential Low Density to Residential Medium Density is requested. Residential Medium accommodates a broad range of housing types including single family attached, single family detached, duplex, town homes, multi -family and patio or garden homes. Any combination of these and possibly other housing types may fall in this category provided that the density is between six (6) and twelve (12) dwelling units per acre. The proposal is to zone the lots to R-4 (Two-family Residential) and build two duplexes on the property. ANALYSIS: After review of the area, Staff believes that this application is not needed and should be withdrawn. NEIGHBORHOOD COMMENTS: Notices were sent to the following neighborhood associations: John Barrow Neighborhood Association, Twin Lakes "A" Homeowners Association, Twin Lakes "B" property Owners Association and Twin Lakes "B" Special Recreation Improvement District. Staff has received no comments from area residents. STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff believes the application should be withdrawn. PLANNING COMMISSION ACTION: (OCTOBER 31, 2013) The item was placed on consent agenda for withdrawal. By a vote of 9 for, 0 against, 1 absent and one open position the consent agenda was approved.
