Dear Mr. Lawson,
I am vehemently opposed to the addition of another new or used car dealer in West Little Rock.
My family and 1 moved to West Little Rock a mere 4 years ago and have seen too much land
destroyed and hills literally, taken away and traffic increased exponentially.
When we moved there it was a nice, almost scenic, drive through miles of tree lined roads. Now
it's obnoxious, blinking, neon signs, an increase in inconsiderate drivers, traffic and congestion.
Since we moved to the area, there has been built; Wal-Mart, HQ, Best Buy, Home Depot, Target,
numerous car lots, more retail shops, restaurants, tire stores, and much more. We need to
mention the lots currently being developed and the soon -to -be -developed; the postage stamp sized
lot west of Hobby Lobby on Markham, the lot south of HQ, the lot north of Wal-Mart on Chenal,
and so on. The only thing located at Markham and Chenal, when we moved there, were trees.
Shops on Bowman were located on Bowman Curve. Those were the days.
Let us not forget who used to live in those trees we use to drive by- animals. We now have
dozens of rabbits in our neighborhood. We've seen snakes on sidewalks, an increase in "road kill"
and we even have possums climbing on the fence in our backyard. You almost take your life in
your hands crossing the street these days.
Kanis is overloaded with traffic now. It is getting worse with the additional retail and commercial
businesses being established. The intersection of Kanis and Bowman is a nightmare now, don't try
to turn north on Bowman coming from the west. You'll block traffic for days. We,do not need
another business in the area, especially not a car lot! I do not care how "pretty" the shiny new cars
are on a car lot, it's an eye sore, and in my opinion, an unwanted addition to the area. I do not
appreciate the landscape degradation happening in West Little Rock!
I am not in favor of further development of West Little Rock!
