This is our second mailing to you on the Land Use Plan review of the city generally south
of I-30 and east of Geyer Springs Road. This has been done as part of the Citys efforts to
make sure the adopted Land Use Plan for the City is current and relevant. The Land Use
Plan is a document used by the City and others to help determine the appropriate future
use of land. It is also used when deciding whether to approve a request for rezoning.
After conducting the Land Use Plan review several areas have been identified where
Staff believes a change in the Plan is appropriate. An attached map illustrates the
suggested changes. Please take a few moments and review the map.
These changes are intended to more accurately reflect the likely near and mid-term (next
five to ten years) use of the land. Please note this action would not change the current
zoning of any land. The current zoning not the Land Use Plan controls how a piece of
property may be legally developed.
This package of changes is proposed by Staff and will be presented to the Little Rock
Planning Commission at their April 13, 2006 meeting. This meeting starts at 4 PM and
will take place in the City Board Chambers located in City Hall at 500 West Markham.
