Jay Brizzolara called me about 3:15 and said that while trenching between the new
building and the administration building, the crew found a well. They were trenching
about three feet down for electric lines and found the top of the well. I responded that I
would go over to the site, meet Jay there, and take e photos of the well.
We met there with Scott Landers of the church and I took photos of the well. It is a stone
lined well with mortar joints. It appears to have an 18-24” opening with round stones for
the wall. It was covered with two layers of flat stones as a covering. The well has been
covered by an asphalt parking lot for many years.
I took photos of the well and the stones that came off the top of the well. It is generally
between the administration building and the new classroom building. The PDF is an old
aerial photo that shows the old rectory. The well is located halfway between the new
classroom building and the administration building on a line between the eastern third of
the administration building west porch due south.
