Per your letter o June 2, 2006 to Mr. Jay Brizzolara concerning St Edwards Church,
please change the comment on Page 4 Zoning and Subdivis ion Remarks #6 to: This
site is located within the MacArthur Park Historic District. Submit verification from Staff
that approval has been given.
I am the Staff person for the MacArthur Park Historic District that is governed by the
Little Rock Historic District Commission. Please include me in the review process in the
future on all applications in the MacArthur Park area prior to the letter going to the
applicant. If I am not available, Walter Malone or Eve Gieringer will be available.
Three Review items From MacArthur Park Historic District:
1. Page SD-14 (A-5.1) Door, Window, Precast, and Partition Schedules, Detail Enlarged
Elevation Detail, Corbeled Brick Inset Panel: Precast Panels Type “E” and Type “F” on
west elevation were not approved by the Historic District Commission (HDC). Replace
panels with a basket weave pattern of brick as approved by the HDC. Duplicate the
“Herringbone” pattern shown at the top of this elevation.
2. No exterior lighting was approved with the review of this project from the HDC.
Submit model numbers and manufacturers as well as lighting plan prior to installation to
HDC Staff. A COA is required for all exterior lighting.
3. HDC approval was for a specific brick and shingle color and style. Shingles to be
“Olde English Pewter” from Heritage Series. Submit brick sample to HDC Staff prior to
instillation.
