Dear Brian:
The following are our answers to your questions as itemized below:
1. Attic vents: On the new building, we are matching the paint colors of the north building (Generally called "convent
building.") It is an off-white color and we will bring a sample to the hearing. The effect intended is to match the existing
elements on the convent building. This means that the paint colors are in contrast to the brick color.
2. Windows: The design intent with the windows is that they appear to be similar to the convent windows. Since the
submission of these drawings we have been able to establish that aluminum clad wood windows may be within budget.
The windows will be single-hung to appear to be double-hung to match the convent building. They will be simulated
divided lights (fixed interior and external muntins with an internal spacer bar.
3. Shingle color: Selected shingles are a light gray and come very close to the roof color on the north (convent) building.
We have a sample to bring to the hearing.
4. Gutters: The gutters are sheet metal and will be painted the same color as the windows.
5. Brackets: The brackets will be the same paint color as the windows.
6. Dormers. The dormers are for HVAC duct penetrations into the attic. They are intended to be hidden from view.
7. Cross. The cross is painted sheet metal but will look generally like simple stone. It will be of a pre-finished metal.
8. The aluminum parapet cap is intended to appear to be pre-cast concrete, therefore the color is intended to match
pre-cast concrete. The finish should be a flat as possible.
Call if you have questions (Aaron Ruby or me...374-5300.)
