Subject: Proposed re -zoning at Kirby and Kanis
Since the hearing scheduled for today was postponed until April 12, I would like to
register my concern regarding the proposed resoning of the property at Kanis and
Kirby Roads. As it is currently zoned for light business, new construction meeting
that criteria would be less dissonant with the residential nature of the community
than a metal storage facility.
Since I have personally experienced the inferior road condition on Kirby, I would
be very reluctant to see any -additional building there until that road is improved.
It has no shoulders and there are steep ditches on both sides. Kirby Road needs
to be upgraded from its junction with Markham to Kanis before any new
development is considered that would bring additional traffic along that dangerous
route.
