Subject: Champagnolle Rezonings
Dear Tony:
As a follow up to the meeting between you, Tim Daters and me last Friday, we have discussed with our client,
Deltic Timber Corporation, the City's request that the application to rezone the multifamily tract located at the
southwest corner of Champagnolle Drive and Rahling Road extended and the creation of an Open Space zone
along the south east boundary of homes in Witry Court, be deferred to the next Planning Commission meeting
following the April 10 meeting of the Planning Commission. Although we are prepared to proceed, we understand
that you have concerns about the impact of these requested changes on the overall land use plan for the larger
area which includes the south end of Chenal Valley and the Kanis Road corridor. Based upon our explanation of
the City's concerns, Deltic has agreed to defer the requested rezonings until the next Planning Commission
agenda following the April 10 meeting.
It is also our understanding, based upon our meeting with you last week, that the requested rezoning of lots in the
Independence Farms Addition will proceed at the April 10 meeting and that you have not requested a deferral of
this item.
If you have need of any further confirmation of our client's positions in this regard, please feel free to contact me
at your first convenience.
Sincerely,
Bill Spivey
